Message Recovery
When WhatsApp disconnects, pending messages are held in NoteConfirm. Upon reconnection, you choose how to resume them: review one by one or let the system drain them automatically with safe pauses.
Recovery strategies
| Strategy | How it works | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Manual | You review each held message and decide to send or discard it. | Low-volume stores or those needing full control over every communication. |
| Automatic | NoteConfirm resends messages in batches with configurable pauses. | High-volume stores that need to resume quickly without overwhelming the channel. |
Configure manual recovery
- Open Dashboard → Recovery
You'll see the held messages tray with date, order, and recipient.
- Select "Manual" strategy
Messages remain on hold until you act on them.
- Review and act
For each message: Send resends it respecting current limits, Discard deletes it permanently.
Tip: In manual mode, messages don't expire. You can review them hours or days after the disconnection without losing them.
Configure automatic recovery
- Open Dashboard → Recovery → Preferences
Select "Automatic" as your default strategy.
- Set batch size
Define how many messages are sent per round. We recommend 5-10 for numbers in warm-up and up to 20 for mature numbers.
- Set pause between batches
Define the wait time between rounds. Minimum 60 seconds. For new numbers, use 120-180 seconds.
- Set hourly cap
Optionally limit how many messages are drained per hour. Default is 12/hour; adjust based on your configured daily limit.
Incidents and hold
If NoteConfirm detects an account health incident (temporary ban, severe rate limit), it automatically activates a hold that pauses all sending until you confirm recovery.
- Incident banner: Appears on the dashboard showing how many messages are held and the reason for the hold.
- Resolution: Once the WhatsApp issue is resolved, confirm in the banner to resume. Held messages follow your configured strategy (manual or automatic).
- History: Each incident is logged with date, duration, and affected message count for auditing.
Frequently asked questions
Do held messages expire?
No. Messages are kept indefinitely until you send, discard, or change strategy. However, message content is deleted after 30 days per the data retention policy.
Can I switch strategies while messages are held?
Yes. The change applies immediately. If you switch from automatic to manual, draining stops and remaining messages appear in the review tray.
Does automatic recovery respect quiet hours?
Yes. Batches are only sent outside your configured quiet hours. If the quiet window starts during a drain, remaining batches are paused until sending resumes.
